Your day-by-day adventure through Tanzania's spectacular wilderness
Day 1: Arrival In Tanzania
Welcome to Tanzania! Your personal Kito Safaris guide will greet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and escort you to your hotel. Settle in, relax, and prepare for the journey of a lifetime.
Day 2: Materuni Waterfalls Hike
Begin your journey with a scenic walk from Materuni village to the 70-meter-high Kuringe Waterfall, nestled at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Walk through lush tropical trails filled with banana and coffee plantations.
Day 3: Arusha National Park
Enjoy your first game drive in Arusha National Park. Look out for colobus monkeys, giraffes, flamingos, and the majestic Silvery Cheeked Hornbill.
Days 4–5: Tarangire National Park
Explore one of Tanzania’s hidden gems, home to massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. During the dry season, the Tarangire River attracts an incredible variety of wildlife.
Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park
Drive through forests filled with baboons and birds before reaching the alkaline lake with flamingos and elephants.
Day 7: Mto Wa Mbu Culture & Maasai Village
Cycle through banana plantations, visit local markets, and engage with Maasai culture in a local village.
Days 8–9: Lake Natron
This surreal, red-hued alkaline lake is home to thousands of flamingos. Enjoy nature walks and explore the volcanic landscapes.
Days 10–12: Serengeti National Park
Three full days of game drives in the Serengeti. Spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and the Great Migration (seasonal).
Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a wildlife paradise home to the Big Five. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers unmatched game viewing.
Day 14: Empakaai Crater Hike
Hike through forested trails to the Empakaai Crater floor. Marvel at flocks of flamingos and panoramic views of Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano.
Day 15: Lake Eyasi & Hadzabe Tribe
Meet the Hadzabe, Tanzania’s last remaining hunter-gatherers. Experience their traditional bow-hunting lifestyle and explore Lake Eyasi’s bird-rich shores.
Day 16: Farewell Tanzania
Relax at your lodge before your private transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport. If you’re not ready to leave, ask us about adding a Zanzibar beach extension!
